Should I leave a blow up sleeping pad rolled up tight in its bag? Or should I unroll the sleeping pad and lay it flat? Which is better?
Answer Question
I have the ThermaRest ProLite Plus which I leave the valve open and kind of hang it, unrolled, in a spare closet.
I now use a Thermarest z-lite sol and leave it folded up with the valve open.I previously had an REI self inflating sleeping pad that the instructions said to store with the valve open, flat - which I did religiously, but had 2 die in less than a few years of use. One the other hand, my husband had the same style and kept his stored rolled up in the bag and his is still going strong 10 years later.
