What temperature rating sleeping bag should I buy?

I need to buy a new sleeping bag for an upcoming camping trip, what temperature sleeping bag should I get?

The temperature rating for your sleeping bag should be rated to handle temperatures 15 degrees lower than the lowest temps you expect experience while camping. This will unsure you will stay warm enough while sleeping throughout the night, and be able to handle any unexpected cold temperatures that may occur.
